While this book did not provide any real new knowledge to me about care of the Elderly, it does provide a nice succinct overview of common health conditions, normal aging changes, and basic nursing care addressing the most common condition or geriatric syndromes found in the older adult. The charts are a very nice tool to help put basic knowledge and nursing interventions together in one easy to read, neat package. I can use this book to give my nursing students some good interventions related to geriatric syndromes which is one of the timely topics in nursing as espoused by the NLN or the National League for Nursing ACES care which is Advancing Care Excellence for Seniors.Product details

I gained no insight reading this book. It seems like it should be supplemented with class time and instructor information.
Practical but not detailed enough. Didn't like references cited from Index Medicus. The author seemed to shift audience from physician to layman. To whom is it addressed?
You don't have to be in the medical field to understand this insightful book. I would recommend it for anyone dealing with the elderly or aging parents.
I am an FNP working in a SNF for first time. This is an excellent book and well written, coviering all the basics in a concise manner but also comprehensive. Includes nice medication summaries most chapters. It was recommended by a physical therapist who purchased it as part of a course he took. All current management strategies
